In Celebration of Matt Ryd

On Monday the music scene came together again to remember our dearly departed Matt Ryd and raise money for NEDA and ANAD. I emceed the event that included such great acts as Common Shiner, Cobalt & The Hired Guns, Greg Combs, Jess Godwin, Lady Laura, Xoë Wise and Suspension. Each act performed songs of Matt’s or songs he would cover routinely. Somehow I wound up singing ‘Africa’ by Toto with Matt’s own band backing me up in front of a packed crowd at Martyr’s. Fun was had and we’re all very proud of the money we were able to raise.
